Mayor’s Imagine Fund was launched in April 2002 to promote active citizenry among the residents and to help them realize their ideas for the community. The fund support innovative initiative or projects that champion for a social cause.
Project must fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
• Must benefit residents of Central Singapore district
• Must be held in Central Singapore district
• Applicant must reside in Central Singapore district.
Quantum
One-time funding of up to $5,000 or 80% of the total project cost, whichever is lower (on a reimbursement basis).
Guideline(s)
Consider some social issues you may want to address, for example:
1. Prevent Child Abuse
• An average of 160 child abuse cases are reported to child protection services annually.
2. Save the Environment
• Approximately 6 million tonnes of waste are generated in Singapore annually.
3. Prevent Social Isolation Among Elderly
• Over 22,000 elderly in Singapore are staying alone.

Event : Project Bridge It!
Organiser : A group of undergraduates from SMU

Bridge It is a Community Service Project aimed at creating Singapore first Corporate Social Responsibility Hub. The project is organized by a group of passionate undergraduates from Singapore Management University and supported by the Central Singapore CDC – Mayor’s Imagine Fund. The project hopes to bridge business and their stakeholders by creating a heightened awareness about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its benefits.
The goal of the project is to change the pre-conceived mindset of businesses that CSR only involves big firms and encompasses only charity work. CSR is not merely about giving but also entails receiving as well. For instance, the project hopes to let businesses aware of other benefits which may come with CSR such as optimization and cost savings that may inevitably allow companies to generate more profits in the long run.
Event : Bakery Hearts Project
Organiser : Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre
Date : 14 Dec 10 – 6 Feb 11
Venue : Cheng San CC
Targeted participants : 25 persons
Brief:
The Bakery Hearts Project is a project organized by the Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre and supported by the Central Singapore CDC – Mayor’s Imagine Fund. The project aims to equip unemployed housewives from low income families with some form of baking skills, so as to allow them to earn a source of supplement income through the sales of festive cookies.
The project managed to earn an income of over $5,000, where each participants manage to bring home a supplement income of $500.
