Welcome to the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay & Central Singapore CDC CLAP! Collaboration
Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay commemorates its 10th anniversary in 2012 with the theme Celebrating Life – The best of the Human Spirit through the Arts. Esplanade’s celebrations begin on 1 January 2012 and comprise a year-long presentation of arts performances and activities that feature and pay tribute to 17 key human values.
As part of the engagement project, Esplanade is working with Central Singapore Community Development Council (CDC) to bring the arts to residents within the central district in 2012 as a part of Central Singapore CDC’s monthly Community Life Arts Programme (CLAP!). Esplanade hope to bring a slice of Esplanade and the arts to residents within the district all year round.
Do come down with your loved ones to enjoy the show on Saturdays, 7.30pm to 9pm.

Bonding through the Arts
The Community Life Arts Programme or CLAP! was started in 2001 with the aim of bringing the arts to residents in the District and to promote bonding in the community. CLAP! began as ad hoc performances featured an eclectic mix of art forms – one could never be sure what to expect – a street dance, Chinese opera, flamenco dance or a magic show!
Amateur performers found CLAP! to be a good platform to show their talents and creativity before a live audience. CLAP! was such a success that it became a regular programme, happening at fixed time and venues around the District.
CLAP! is not only a platform for our local amateur talents, it has hosted many international performers too. But just like in its early days, CLAP! will still surprise with its quirky mix of performances!
So bring your friends, family and guests down to the nearest CLAP! venue, be entertained and take time out to meet your neighbours and fellow residents.
