“10 - Stories: Queenstown Through The Years” The FIRST heartwarming book that talks about the FIRST satellite town in Singapore!
Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew recently launched a coffee table book entitled 10 Stories: Queenstown Through the Years at the Tanjong Pagar GRC Tree Planting Day 2007, Launch of Alexandra Canal Linear Park & Queenstown Heritage Book on 11 November 07.
Packed with memories of a first generation of Singaporeans growing up in our very first satellite town, the book opens to you personal stories of the people who moved from the spacious outdoors to much smaller and more crowded living spaces, how living in Queenstown was like and how much they still love the place even though they have moved out more than a decade ago.
Captured alongside is also the story of the planning and construction of Queenstown and the role of the first-generation leaders whose vision and foresight solved the centuries-old housing problems inherited from the colonial government.
Co-published by National Heritage Board, Central Singapore Community Development Council and Queenstown Citizens' Consultative Committee, 10 Stories: Queenstown Through the Yearsis now available to at all major book stores at the retail price of $30 (excl GST).
