Hope to see your ideas for sustainable community projects come alive? The Mayor’s Imagine Fund can make that happen!
The Mayor’s Imagine Fund aims to promote active citizenry among the residents and to help them realize their ideas for the community. With the newly introduced top-tier funding, you can now apply for up to $30,000 over a period of 2 years to benefit the less privileged through social entrepreneurial projects. Training may also be provided for aspiring social entrepreneurs who want to make a difference! The 2nd tier of the MIF also funds short-term community projects up to a cap of $5,000.
The newly restructured MIF allows you to Imagine the I’Mpossible and realize even BIGGER dreams!
About the Mayor’s Imagine Fund:
The Mayor’s Imagine Fund aims to promote active citizenry among the residents and to help them realize their ideas for the community. The recently-restructured MIF now comprises of 2 tiers:
1) The top tier of the MIF supports long-term, sustainable community projects targeted at benefiting the needy/ vulnerable residents of Central Singapore district. Under the MIF top tier funding, the Committee will approve up to 80% of the total project cost, subject to a cap of $30,000. Funding will be reimbursed half-yearly over a period of 2 years and will be dedicated to seed Social Entrepreneurship projects.
2) The 2nd tier of the MIF supports projects that have community bonding elements and benefit residents, especially in the Central Singapore District, with a one-time funding of up to $5,000.
Assessment Criteria
All projects funded under the MIF Top Tier require:
i) A clear and quantifiable social objective benefiting a disadvantaged/ marginalized segment of society. (The promotion of arts, cultural, health, sports or environmental objectives should not be the primary mission)
ii) A viable business model that is financially sustainable i.e. profitable or self-supporting through revenue generation over at least 5 years
iii) A committed team to drive the project
iv) Proposals have to be implemented locally and preferably to benefit mainly residents of the Central Singapore District.
v) Successful applicants are required to attend an Explorations In Imagine Workshop, a training programme in Social Entrepreneurship.
